Are you interested in researching the brain microstructure using light-sheet microscopy and MRI techniques in mice models of neurodegenerative diseases?
Then, this position might be the perfect fit for you!
Where?
University of Antwerp, joint forces between The Vision Lab and the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Hystology
What?
A full-time postdoc position in light-sheet microscopy and bioimage analysis, working on the ERC-funded ADAM project (a data-driven approach to microstructure imaging).
This project is highly interdisciplinary, developing across several fields, i.e., physics/engineering (MRI and light-sheet microscopy image interpretation), biological and medical sciences (neuroscience and brain microstructure), and computer science (machine learning and artificial intelligence).
Your Profile:
You hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Physics, or a related discipline.
You hold a FELASA certificate or are willing to obtain one, and you are willing to work with laboratory mice.
You have a track record in the acquisition (including preparation, clearing, and immunostaining), curation, and/or processing of light-sheet microscopy data, evidenced by high-quality peer-reviewed publications.
You can write your own image processing and analysis routines in Python, MATLAB, or C++.
When?
Starting ideally from March 2026, it is a 1-year contract that can be renewed for up to 3 years.
