FlaBI is the Technology,
the Expertise,
and the People!

Flanders Bioimaging integrates 9 sites from 5 Flemish Universities covering advanced microscopy and preclinical/clinical imaging, to act as a single multi-sited multimodal node within EuroBioImaging.

Uniquely, Flanders Bioimaging focuses on the promotion of open access to key spearpoint techniques that make use of state-of-the-art imaging infrastructure at each site.

RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE
From Imaging Facilities to Euro-BioImaging

5 Microscopy Facilities

The advanced light microscopy consortium in FlaBI is a collaborative network of scientists specialized in fluorescence imaging, ranging from single-molecule visualization to imaging of integrated cell systems.

4 Preclinical Facilities

The Molecular Imaging consortium in FlaBI integrates the highly sensitive techniques of PET, SPECT, microPET, and microSPECT with state-of-the-art anatomo-functional imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and optical imaging to develop fundamental research studies, preclinical trials, and drug development through a complete set of translational imaging infrastructures extending from mice to humans.

5 Universities & VIB

Flanders BioImaging brings together imaging facilities of all Flemish universities and VIB (Flemish research institute), creating a unique network for scientists and industrial partners to collaborate and access top-notch imaging technologies across Flanders.

Belgian Node in EuBI

Since 2024, FlaBI is part of the European Research Infrastructure consortium (ERIC) Euro-BioImaging, working towards open access to imaging technologies and FAIR data management in imaging facilities.
